Courtesy repost of the email sent by the Iowa Education Portal team on 3/14/25. Dear EdPortal user, You have been identified as a user of the Iowa Department of Education’s “EdPortal”. The Iowa Department of Education will be making an update to the single sign-on for EdPortal. The EdPortal sign-in process will transition from Enterprise A&A to Okta. Beginning April 7, 2025, you will need to access EdPortal with an ID.iowa.gov (OKTA) account. The State of Iowa is making safe authentication and access to sensitive information by transitioning to ID.iowa.gov. New security standards call for users to authenticate utilizing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). You are probably familiar with MFA, a code is sent back to a user upon attempting to access a system, like personal banking or other business conducted over the internet. An Okta account id will need to be created if you don't already have an account on ID.iowa.gov. Note: a paragraph regarding checking to see if you have an account has been removed from this posting of the email due to resulting problems that will cause you to be locked out of the system for 24 hours. DO NOT use the "check to see if I have an account" option that was described in the initial email. Instead, use the signup link as described below. You can create your ID.iowa.gov account at any time, but the ID.iowa.gov account id will not work with EdPortal until April 7, 2025. Not sure if you have an account id? Go to ID.iowa.gov, at the bottom center of the screen click on “Don’t have an account? Sign up”. Enter your first name, last name and email address and click on ‘Sign up’. The system will return a message if it finds your email already set up in Okta. If the system does not find your email, proceed with creating an Okta account. Use the attached flow and help resources to create an account: Edportal setup and help. On or after April 7, 2025 go to EdPortal at portal.ed.iowa.gov and sign-in using your Okta account id.
