CFL Steps to Prepare

As soon as possible

  • Ensure staff that need to receive communication or will monitor participation are set-up in the SIS (Student Information System) through the Portal, and have access to the Panorama MTSS system.
  • Identify dates to:
    • Obtain active parent consent. Forms must be returned at least one week before survey administration.
    • Administer the survey to 3rd-12th graders, including those that are learning online (must be between April 1-30, 2025). 
  • Obtain active parent consent consistent with local district or building practices for all students in grades 3-12. Active parental consent letters are provided as an example for you within this document (see Parent Communication).
  • Make surveys available for parents to review, as requested.

At least two weeks prior to survey dates

  • Schedule laptop/computer lab time if necessary.
  • If not already completed, follow local district or building practices to obtain active parent consent.  

At least one week prior to survey dates

  • Provide the Information Packet and Proctor Guide to any teachers or staff who will be acting as survey proctors.
  • Plan alternate activities for students not participating in the survey.
  • If desired, create a shortcut to the survey through the student portal or on computers that will be used for the survey administration. 

On or after April 1

  • Share this link to access the survey with students who have documented active parent consent: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/ia/login 
    • Students will enter their 10-digit state student ID to complete the survey.
