IMPORTANT ACTION REQUIRED: Iowa Education Portal (EdPortal) Transition to Okta
Please make sure all of your staff are aware of this and take the necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted access to FastBridge, Panorama and ACHIEVE. In order to maintain access, every user with an active account in the Iowa Education Portal (EdPortal) received an email regarding the transition to using Okta (id.iowa.gov) instead of A&A when logging into EdPortal beginning April 7th. View a copy of the original email here.
Next steps:
- Before April 4th: Confirm your email address in EdPortal is up-to-date. If it needs to be updated, instructions are here and be sure to check with your student information system manager to ensure your email is the most recent there, as well (teachers may lose access to students).
- Create an Okta account on id.iowa.gov with your current email address. Instructions are here.
- Warning! Ignore the username field and go straight to the bottom of the window and click “Sign Up.” The system will notify you if you already have an account or else you will set up a new account.
- Also, be aware that multiple failed attempts on password resets may lock you or all users in your district out for 24 hours, especially if the district uses a mutual IP address setup.
- EdPortal will be unavailable the weekend of April 4-6th for the transition.
- Beginning Monday, April 7th, go to portal.ed.iowa.gov as normal. Use your Okta login credentials (email address and password for id.iowa.gov) to log into the EdPortal.
Have questions? Contact EdPortal support at (515) 725-2040 or ed.portal@iowa.gov
Updates will be made to access information below after the transition.
Student Success is part of Iowa's MTSS and Early Warning System. All users access Student Success via the Iowa Education Portal (EdPortal), an Iowa Department of Education site that acts as a gateway to several education applications, including FastBridge and Student Success. Specific steps are required for users to be granted access to Student Success via their EdPortal account and the steps are different for LEA vs AEA staff.
For AEA staff:
The steps for access depend upon which user role you need. AEA user roles should NOT be entered in any district's student information system.
In the quick start guide you'll find instructions for:
-
The 4 steps required for access. Note: The steps are different for the AEA Student Success building user role
- Create an account on EdPortal
-
For ALL user roles except the building user role: Request a Panorama user role in EdPortal.
For the building user role only: Work with your AEA's designated contact for Student Success access. Once complete, skip to step #4. - Your AEA's EdPortal security office approves user role request.
- Log into EdPortal to access Student Success
